Something mildly amusing was discovered about the female characters in Age of Conan. It appears that there was an accidental reduction made to their boob size, call it a involuntarily plastic surgery if you want. The player that discovered this also posted screenshots to show the difference. |

Funcom Systems Designer "Jayde" has posted a preview of the upcoming first wave of balance changes to Age of Conan. The first two underperformers to get the 'dev love' will be the mage classes Demonologist and Necromancer. |

After a few more games we started learning the cues. Auras surround character's protected areas. So if we saw an opening above the character's head a downward slash would be used. If they were unarmoured on the left, we'd attack accordingly. You have to be swift, fast on your feet and a quick thinker. The combat gets quite deep and having the right attacks hot keyed to the numerical keys was essential. You'd find yourself trying to use a deadly equation of 1's, 2's and 8's. The games were fierce and fast, bloody and utterly engaging. We would have liked more modes of PvP combat but what we got was great - even though our poor barbarian was frequently battered about. |

I haven't been able to play much as of late, but I did manage to hit level 54 yesterday, and I am still enjoying the game immensely.I am continuing to quest mostly in Cimmeria, with some trips back to Aquilonia and the Noble District in Old Tarantia. You can read my previous leveling guides part 1, part 2, and part 3 to see how I progressed from 1 to 49. |

I pretty much tried everything possible to get it working again, but nothing helped. So there I was unable to join the group and forced to leave the whole place without having achieved anything because of a bug. This was the first time I was really affected by bugs during my whole time playing AoC and I gotta admit I felt really frustrated and had to log out for a while to keep my cool. Now I think I understand the people who skip the whole place and wait for the mobs to get gray so they can do it solo. No matter how much fun grouping is, the place is horrible and should definitely be turned in to a group instance instead of the shared dungeon it is at the moment. |

Once I reached level 49 the quests in FotD really slowed down, and I was not strong enough to complete the quests in Toirdealbach's Tomb (northwest corner) so I headed to the next zone. This is a zone called the Eiglophian Mountains. It is a winter clad landscape with tall mountains and great views. I leveled very quickly here doing some of the lower level quests and some of the 'wanted poster' quests killing cannibals. I still have many quests left in this area, and I suspect I'll be here until my high fifties. I will also head back to FotD and complete Toirdealbach's Tomb before I reach 60. Note: Today's patch note from Funcom had the following line --> Toirdealbach should now be a more fun and playable encounter. |

To understand my point of view with grinding you have to know a little bit about my MMO history and about Lineage 2 in particular, which is the game I played for the longest period of time and still have my loyalties at. L2 is often nicknamed "Grindage 2″ and for a reason too. |

To make the weekend even more interesting Eidos and Funcom are also including the engaging Age of Conan character creation system, allowing players to create avatars with strong personalities. All 12 classes in the game, including the barbarian, can be picked and tested, with Funcom transforming each character into a fully specced, level 20 death machine. In PvP lobbies players can then chat and socialize, prior to entering PvP matches. Participants are urged to test different classes and offer any feedback on the forums. There will also be forums on GameSpot.com where people can talk about the event, and Funcom staff will be present to gather feedback. |

We had a chance to observe more high-level combat in the game, which remains as bloody and violent as ever. We watched a small party of a sword-wielding barbarian, a priest, and a necromancer leap into action against the thugs in a bandit camp, and later, launch a raid on a small Cimmerian village where Conan himself was born. While the necromancer character seemed better suited to hanging back and zapping the enemy with magic spells, both the barbarian and priest character leapt into battle, though the priest character did prepare for combat by casting protective "buff" spells, summoning ghostly serpents and female spirits to cast magical wards on the party first. |
